Michael Foster
Mike joined Midwest Mezzanine Funds in 2001 after having spent a number of years as a commercial banker. Prior to joining the firm, Mike was a Senior Vice President and Division Head with LaSalle Bank in its Leveraged Lending Group. Mike was also instrumental in establishing LaSalle Bank’s Education and Environmental Services specialized lending groups. Prior to joining LaSalle Bank in 1991, Mike worked in numerous commercial banking positions for the Bank of Boston and Mellon Bank.
Mike serves as a Director of Paramount Mechanical, Charm Medical, Stealth Manufacturing, Blair Duron, and Thrift Books.
Mike received an MBA in Accounting from DePaul University and a BA in U.S. Government from Georgetown University. Mike actively participates at the Board level in a number of not-for-profit organizations including Santa’s Volunteers and the Academy of Saint Benedict the African.
Paul Kreie
Paul has over 20 years of lower middle market experience and has been with Midwest Mezzanine since 1999. Prior to joining Midwest, Paul worked in the Corporate Finance Group of Heller Financial, Inc. focusing on providing senior credit facilities to private equity sponsored companies. Paul’s experience with Heller also included monitoring the group’s portfolio of private equity partnership investments. Prior to Heller, Paul administered a portfolio of commercial loan accounts for the Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan.
Paul serves or has served as a Director of Transhield, Course Trends, Hercules Enterprises, Frontier Fire, Connecticut Electric, City Wide Building Services, Dorsett Technologies, LSC Environmental, Pelton Shepherd, FireKing, Rackmont Solutions, Century Drill Tools, and BlackCreek.
Paul received his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, his BS in Finance from Marquette University and is a CFA charterholder. Paul enjoys golf, fishing, skiing and volunteering with local youth development programs in his community.
Ana Winters
Ana joined Midwest in 2004 from LaSalle Bank. Ana started at LaSalle in 2001 as part of the Leveraged Finance Group where she focused on underwriting, analyzing and monitoring cash flow transactions to private equity sponsored companies. Ana also helped negotiate and restructure certain distressed assets from LaSalle’s Leveraged Finance portfolio. Previously, Ana was a Manager in Ernst & Young’s M&A consulting group where she provided due diligence advisory services to private equity investors. Ana began her career with Arthur Andersen where she spent three years auditing middle-market manufacturing clients.
Ana serves or has served as a Director of Transhield, Connecticut Electric, Peltram Plumbing, Dorsett Technologies, LSC Environmental, Pan-Am Dental, Blair Duron, and Century Drill & Tool.
Ana received her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and her BS in Accounting from DePaul University. She passed the CPA exam. Ana is also actively involved with the Midwest Regional Committee for the Small Business Investor Alliance as well as several charities that support her church and children’s school.
Elliott Linsley
Elliott joined Midwest Mezzanine Funds as a Vice President in 2015. Prior to Midwest, Elliott was a Vice President with Maxim Partners, a suburban Chicago based private equity group focused on the energy, education, environmental services and wellness sectors. While at Maxim, Elliott was involved in all aspects of deal sourcing, evaluation and execution as well as portfolio company management. Prior to Maxim, Elliott was an Investment Manager with Webster Equity Partners, a middle-market private equity firm, and was an Analyst in the investment banking group of RBC Capital Markets.
Elliott currently serves on the boards of various Midwest Mezzanine portfolio companies, including Imagine Technology Group, City Wide Building Services, and Charm Medical Supply.
Elliott earned his MBA in Finance, Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and earned a BA in Economics from Bates College.
Nathan Tokarz
Nathan joined Midwest Mezzanine Funds in 2019 to lead in the execution of the firm’s business development strategy. Prior to joining Midwest, Nathan spent five years in Associated Bank’s Commercial Finance Group as a dual Relationship and Portfolio Manager. He provided creative and customized senior debt financing structures to middle market companies with EBITDA ranging from $5-50 million. He also received recognition as a leader for starting up the Chicago Chapter of Associated Veterans Network, which is a colleague resource group that offers support to veterans in the communities he serves. Prior to Associated Bank, Nathan was an Analyst with First Midwest Bank and was an Associate with Silicon Valley Bank’s Venture Banking Group.
Nathan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was involved in the Golder Center of Private Equity, Illinois Business Consulting, and various entrepreneurship programs.
James Fox
Jim joined Midwest Mezzanine Funds as an Associate in 2018. Prior to Midwest, Jim was an Associate with CapX Partners, a Chicago-based alternative debt provider focusing on senior and equipment backed credit facilities to private equity sponsored companies. While at CapX, Jim was involved in all aspects of deal sourcing, evaluation and execution as well as portfolio management. Prior to CapX, Jim worked for three years at Wintrust Financial where he underwrote cash flow and asset-based transactions and managed a portfolio of middle-market commercial banking clients.
Jim earned his BA in Economics and Classics from the College of the Holy Cross.
Jason Vandermyde
Jason joined Midwest Mezzanine as a Senior Associate in 2022. Prior to joining the team, Jason worked at BMO Harris Bank in the Sponsor Finance group where he exclusively focused on underwriting and structuring debt financing used for leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and add-on acquisitions in support of private equity-owned middle market businesses.
Jason earned his B.S.B, in both Finance and Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington.
Peter Timotijevic
Peter joined Midwest Mezzanine as an Associate in 2021. Prior to joining the team, Peter worked as an underwriter/portfolio manager at Wintrust Financial where he helped manage a portfolio of middle-market clients, including those backed by PE sponsor groups. He also helped structure new deals in tandem with the senior bankers and credit officers.
Peter earned a B.S in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance, and a B.A in Political Science from the University of Missouri–Columbia.
Elizabeth Milz
Liz has been with Midwest Mezzanine Funds since 2001. In her current position, she is responsible for all of the accounting and financial activities related to the Funds and MMF Capital Management, the Funds’ management company. Her duties include cash management, quarterly financial reporting, and coordinating and reviewing the annual tax return and audit process. Liz has over 25 years accounting and financial reporting experience. Before joining Midwest, she worked at several Chicago firms, including the John Buck Company, Hyatt Corporation and VMS Realty Partners.
Liz received her MBA from DePaul University and her BS in Accounting from Southern Illinois University. She is also a CPA. In her spare time, Liz enjoys playing golf, bike riding and hiking as well as spending time with friends and family.
Rubi Moore
Rubi joined Midwest Mezzanine in 2016. In her current position as Staff Accountant, Rubi assists the Director of Finance in a variety of areas including investor and SBA reporting, Fund financial statement preparation, interest billing, accounts payable / receivable, expense reporting, tax preparation work and other duties. Prior to joining Midwest, she worked at MRC Industries as Assistant to the CFO and Finance Department Coordinator.
Rubi holds a BA in Accounting from the University of San Jose Recoletos. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and traveling to new places whenever she can.
David Gezon
Dave has over twenty-five years of mezzanine and private equity experience in addition to nine years of middle-market lending experience. Prior to founding Midwest in 1992, Dave originated and managed mezzanine and equity investments for Kleinwort Benson Limited and the KB Mezzanine Fund. Prior to joining Kleinwort, Dave originated leveraged transactions for GE Capital and Harris Trust and Savings Bank (now BMO Harris Bank).
Dave received his MBA in Marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and earned a BS in Finance from Miami University (Ohio). Dave has been involved in coaching youth sports, Boy Scouts, the Chicago Lights Tutoring Program and is on the Advisory Board of the Symposium on Mezzanine and Middle Market Finance.
