Small Business Investing Scholars Program Summer Intern

Midwest Mezzanine is pleased to introduce our new summer intern, Sophia Gianaris, a participant in the Small Business Investing Scholars Program. Sophia joins us from Tulane University’s A. B. Freeman School of Business, where she is a rising junior majoring in Finance and Psychology with a minor in Legal Studies. She is actively involved in several  school organizations, including Women’s Lacrosse, Women Investing in Women, the Green Bull Investment Banking Group, and Kappa Alpha Theta.

During her internship, Sophia will immerse herself in all aspects of our business, including new deal sourcing and reviewing efforts, presentation of new investment opportunities, due diligence support, and active portfolio monitoring.

Launched in 2019, the Small Business Investing Scholars Program is an eight-week initiative that provides top undergraduate students—particularly those interested in careers in finance or private equity—the opportunity to work with participating SBIC firms across the U.S. The program’s goal is to promote diversity and inclusion within the SBIC community. For more information about the program, please visit here. To connect with Sophia, please find her on LinkedIn here.

We are excited to welcome Sophia and look forward to the contributions she’ll make this summer.
